Old Croatian Heritage in New Light

Already for the fifth year in a row the exhibition "Old Croatian Heritage in New Light" is held in the Church of St. Donatus, Zadar, Croatia. This exhibition enriches, during summer months, not only the tourist and cultural offer of the Archeological Museum Zadar, but also of the whole Zadar city. The exhibition is a result of cooperation between the Archeological Museum Zadar and the renown Croatian light artists Gordana and Zorislav Shoyat, with support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.

The exhibition presents novel content in the cultural-turist offering of Zadar, and the authors dedicated it "To Unknown Artists of the Croatian Middle Ages". Through the medium of light and using huge projection formats, valuable and rich Old-Croatian cultural heritage is presented in a very attractive way. Visitors of the exhibition have the opportunity to see a large number of monuments otherwise not publicly accessible, as they are kept in the archives of the Archeological Museum. Through this exhibition those valuable monuments can again be seen in the Church of St. Donatus, where once upon a time there were exhibited. Thus the visitors are, in a modern and contemporary way, returned into historical times via this "light time-machine".

The exhibition is held continually every summer from year 2015, during the months of August and September, each night from sunset until 01:00 after midnight.
