Virtue 0.4 / (Virtue 0.3) n0.01 / (n0.4 - n0.41.83)

Virtue is not yet available in source form, due to the fact that it is only version 0.4. It will be available in the future.
However, if you are really interested (perhaps even in helping development), please write to sojat@irb.hr. I would be happy to hear any comments also.

However, there are executable formats for several operating systems and several processor architectures available: (remark: all executables are gziped!)

Please BEWARE: As Virtue 0.4 is presently being actively developed, not all executables are presently up to the newest (sub)version. Some of them are still version 0.3. After downloading the executable, please check 'Virtue -v'.

The newest version is Virtue 0.4 n0.01 of 27/1/2010. The executables for that version are clearly indicated. All other executables are (still) Virtue 0.3.
The latest Virtue 0.3 version is "n0.41.83", as indicated individually for download.
All other executables are the version "n0.41.61notready 17/03/08"

• Motorola processors:

  • Sun 3 (Motorola MC68020):

    • Sun 3 with MC68881: Virtue for SunOS 4.1.1 Sun3 (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

    • Sun 3 with FPA: Virtue for SunOS 4.1.1 Sun3 FPA (Virtue 0.3 n0.4)

  • Macintosh (Motorola MC68030/MC68040):

• Sun Sparc:

  • Sparc:

    • Sun 4 Sunos 4.1.3:

  • MicroSparc / SuperSparc:

    • Sun 4 Solaris 5.1: Virtue for SunOS 5.5.1 Sun4m (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest), should be executable on any Sparc Solaris

  • UltraSparc 64 bit:

    • Sun 4 Solaris 7: Virtue for SunOS 5.7 Sun4u 64 bit (Virtue 0.3)

• Intel/AMD processors:

  • NetBSD i386:

  • FreeBSD i386: Virtue for FreeBSD i386 and higher (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

  • FreeBSD Pentium3: Virtue for FreeBSD Pentium3 and higher (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

  • Linux i386: Virtue for Linux i386 and higher - should be executable on any Linux (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

  • Linux p4/sse2: Virtue for Linux Pentium4/SSE2 and higher - should be executable on any Linux (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

  • Solaris 10: Virtue for Solaris 10 (SunOS 5.10) i386 and higher

  • UWIN - Unix for Windows i686: Virtue for UWIN i686 and higher

  • Windows NT/2000/XP - the above UWIN executable Virtue for Windows should be executable on any Windows NT/2000/XP and with at least an (pentiumpro) processor. (It does not work on Vista.) It shall be named with '.exe' extension! Additionally you will have to download the following four files: posix.dll, ast54.dll, msvcr100.dll and pthread.dll, and copy to "C:\WINDOWS\system32". After that Virtue shall run. (Disregard any possible startup messages!)

• MIPS processors:

  • Linux MIPS: Virtue for Linux MIPS (mips2 instruction set) as mipsel (Virtue 0.3 n0.41.83) - should be executable on any mipsel Linux > 2.0.34

  • NetBSD 5.0 MIPS: Virtue for NetBSD MIPS (mips2 instruction set) as mipsel (Virtue 0.4 n0.01 - newest)

• PowerPC processors:

  • NetBSD Macintosh PowerPC: - should be executable on any NetBSD PowerPC >= 604e

• PA-RISC processors:

All executables are gzipped. Just ungzip them. For Windows (UWIN) call the executable Virtue.exe. For all other systems just call it Virtue. For all non-Windows/UWIN systems type 'chmod +x Virtue' to make it executable.
